How Can rashes On The Foot And Ankle Be Treated?

A foot rash....lasted 7-10 days..I ve tried neosporin for 3 days then cortizone for 4 days...rash is only on inside of each ankle. Becomes worse after a shower and when against electric blanket. Has spread to ankle in the form of puffy little dots. Itched until I used cortizone. Does not bother during the day when active or not.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a fungal infection. I would recommend using an antifungal cream for local application such as Monistat. I also recommend taking antifungal oral medication such as Diflucan for two or three days.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
